T govt to reimburse only T-students' fee HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao will review the students fee reimbursement programme with ministers and other public representatives on Monday.
The review meeting is being convened in the wake of students of successor state of AP studying in Telangana. Some Telangana students too are studying in AP state.
How to reimburse the fee of these students and also the overall scrutiny of fee reimbursement scheme will figure in the review meeting.
Both AP and Telangana State governments have to evolve a mechanism on how to reimburse the fee for their students studying in other successor state.
According to information, around 39,000 Andhra Pradesh students are studying in Telangana. The AP government has to reimburse the fee for them.
Around 1,800 Telangana students are studying in Andhra Pradesh. Telangana government will reimburse their fee.
Most of the AP students studying in Telangana are pursuing professional courses, while Telangana students are studying Intermediate and degree courses in AP.
Of the 39,000 students of AP studying in Telangana, the AP government has to reimburse `126 crore for 2014-15 academic year. The Telangana government has to reimburse around `34 crore for 2014-15 for its students studying in AP.
Meanwhile, the new State governments in both AP and Telangana have to clear the fee reimbursement dues of the last quarter of 2013-14 academic year. The Telangana government has to clear `1,360 crore and the AP government `1,376 crore.
Bonalu Festival
According to an official release, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will review the arrangements for Ramzan and Bonalu festivals with Hyderabad Mayor, Ministers, public representatives of Hyderabad and officials of at 2.30 pm on Monday in C Block Conference Hall at the Secretariat.
