Tie-up with TDP cost us dearly: BJP Hyderabad: BJP Telangana leaders blame the alliance with TDP for the party's poor performance in the elections in the state. Newly-elected MP, MLAs, senior leaders and party candidates who contested the recent polls participated in the first BJP Telangana state-level meeting held in the city under the chairmanship of state unit chief G Kishan Reddy.
They blamed the alliance with the yellow party for the poor show of the party in the polls. Most of the leaders felt that if the party had contested the poll alone, it would have won more seats.
A few leaders criticised senior leaders who advocated alliance with the TDP in Telangana. According to sources, the leaders felt that if the party leadership had announced the chief ministerial candidate,it would have helped the party get support of the people.
They also blamed lack of coordination among the grass-roots workers for the party's poll debacle. They demanded a strong action against those who had worked against the party candidates.
Some others said a TV channel of its own would have helped the party reach out to a larger section of people and suggested that the party leadership launch a channel immediately.
