KCR's daughter Kavita escapes lift accident Hyderabad: Telagnana chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao's daughter and Nizamabad MP K Kavita had a great escape of lift collapse in her house here on Friday. An elevator in TRS MP residence came crashing down leaving few injured.
Kavita escaped unhurt from the accident but former MLA Ratnam and few others who were in the lift at the time reportedly suffered minor injuries.
According to reports, just before the lift could reach the ground floor, the elevator crashed down. The steel cable is believed to have snapped causing the downward descent of the elevator. The injured were provided first aid before being shifted to hospital.
Kalvakuntla Kavita who also happend to be Chairperson of the Telangana Jagruthi won from Nizamabad lok sabha seat by a thumping majority. Kavita's claim to fame, apart from being KCR's daughter, is the lead she had taken in organizing Bathukamma, a traditional women's festival in Telangana, at a time when the region was battling for statehood.
In 2009, she protested during the Nandi awards ceremony for mocking Telangana language and culture in some Telugu films. In 2010 she was in the news for opposing.
