Governor's speech is repeat of TDP manifesto: Jagan HYDERABAD: Firing his first salvo at the Andhra Pradesh government, the YSRC chief and Leader of Opposition in the AP Assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Saturday said there was nothing new in the governor's address to the joint session of both the Houses of AP Legislature here on Saturday.
Stating that governor ESL Narasimhan's speech was confined to the TDP manifesto only, the YSRC president felt that the speech had failed to give proper direction to the government.
In a brief interaction with media persons on the Assembly lobbies here, Jagan said governor's maiden address to the AP Legislature was akin to reading out the contents of TDP manifesto.
He refrained from further picking holes in governor's speech, saying that he would elaborately express his views in the Assembly when the House debates the thanksgiving motion on governor's address from Monday.
Joining chorus with his boss in criticising the governor's address, Rayachoti MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy said that the governor had disappointed the people of Seemandhra, 'which had failed to unveil a vision for the reconstruction of the truncated AP.''
He also felt that the speech could not give a clarity to farmers on how the state government would implement crop loan waiver scheme.
'The governor's address is more like a requiem of the united AP than a blueprint for the reconstruction of Seemandhra. During his speech, the governor has failed to instil confidence in the people of truncated AP, who are insecure about their future,' Reddy said.
Kamalapuram MLA P Ravindranath Reddy felt that there was no proper reference to the Rayalaseema region in the address.
''Rayalaseema region was meted out a raw deal during bifurcation. But, the governor's address failed to unveil any constructive plan from the government for all-round development of the region,' he said.
