Congress appointed heads asked to resign by TDP RAJAHMUNDRY: As part of its decision to accommodate their own men for the nominated posts in the state, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government has issued circulars asking all the leaders appointed for various bodies by the erstwhile Congress government to resign voluntarily with immediate effect. The decision has caused panic among the leaders who obtained the nominated posts by spending a lot of money.
As many as 15 chairmen and members of Agriculture Market Committees, executive bodies of about 300 temples and Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha, 825 Adarsha farmers and 1,800 field assistants of Rural Employment Guarantee Programme in East Godavari district will have to resign from their posts owing to the ruling party's decision.
AP BC Finance Corporation chairman Dokala Murali of Rajahmundry, AP Handicrafts Corporation chairman Pantham Nanaji of Kakinada and some directors of other organisations appointed by former Union minister for human resource development Pallam Raju have also been told to hand in their resignations immediately.
