Four of debt-ridden family ends life in Macherla
GUNTUR: Four members of a family committed suicide by consuming pesticide reportedly due to financial problems in Macherla town Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Munnangi Venkateswara Reddy (65), his wife M Lakshmi (60), daughter Kolli Srilatha (33) and mother-in-law Sarojani (80), all belonging to Vallabhapuram village in Kollipera mandal near Tenali town of the district.
Their bodies were found near Macherla railway station Sunday morning. Empty bottles of pesticide and water were also found near their bodies. The bodies were shifted to the government hospital for postmortem. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
