No assurance from Centre on loan waiver HYDERABAD: Though not giving any clear assurance to the government of Andhra Pradesh on the issue of crop loan waiver, Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh has said that his ministry will look into all the possibilities to help the state.
Speaking to reporters at the BJP state office here, Singh said that he had called on Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and discussed the central schemes which could be useful for the development of agriculture in that state.
He said he had asked Naidu to send his agriculture minister and secretary to Delhi to discuss the possibilities and issues pertaining to agriculture.
When asked about the crop loan waiver promised by the AP government, the Union minister said he had not assured the chief minister of anything and would discuss the issue only when state agriculture minister and secretary meet him in Delhi.
'As soon as I reach Delhi I will fix time for the meeting where all the issues and possibilities regarding agriculture will be discussed,' he clarified.
