Crop loan waiver delay deliberate alleges YSRC HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to delay crop loan waiver on the pretext of Kotaiah Committee report and other formalities, the YSR Congress Party has alleged.
Speaking to reporters at the Assembly Media Point here, party legislators Roja, Vishweshwar Reddy, Sridhar Reddy and others said that Naidu was knowingly delaying implementation of crop loan waiver by setting up various committees and commissions.
'He had promised to waive crop loans after coming to power. Now that he has formed the government, it is his prime duty to keep all his poll promises,' they said.
Roja alleged that Naidu knew very well that the poll promises he was making could not be kept but, being desperate to come to power, made all kinds of false promises. Now, with people putting pressure on him to keep his word, he was trying to wriggle out of the predicament somehow, she said.
Sridhar Reddy said that farmers, believing Naidu's promise, stopped repaying loans but became panicky now with Naidu not giving any assurance to them that he would stick to his promise.
