Naidu's true colours exposed, says KCR Hyderabad : Emboldened by the swelling ranks of his party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gave an open call to Telugu Desam Party leaders in the region to quit their party as it was pursuing 'anti-Telangana' agenda. KCR was speaking after welcoming into the party fold as many as nine MLCs and two MLAs.
Making a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the TRS chief accused him of resorting to intimidating tactics and openly working against the interests of Telangana.
He stressed on the need to have unity of political leaders in the interests of all round development of Telangana State. 'Andhra Pradesh CM is going ahead with a clear agenda, which is against Telangana.
It is an affront on us. At a time when we are all celebrating the fulfillment of our dream, the government there has started attacking us, brought out ordinance transferring seven mandals through backdoor,' he said.
The people who had predicted doom for the TRS were now feeling jealous about its growth, KCR said. 'We are not against the Polavaram project but we are concerned about the livelihood of the Tribals in the Khammam,' the Chief Minister said.
Stating that his AP counterpart was resorting to intimidating tactics, he said, 'I am doing my work taking up review meetings, not even talking to the media but the government in the neighbouring State is resorting to intimidating tactics.'
The CM took exception to the AP ministers urging the Governor to provide post-matric scholarships to Andhra students. Welcoming the MLAs and MLCs, he said that they had not joined the ruling party for any post of position.
'TDP MLC Mohammad Saleem still had five years tenure and K R Amos has three years term,' KCR reminded. Speaking on the occasion, Amos said that they had joined the TRS to work along with KCR for development of Telangana.
'There is a need to counter the conspiracies of rival forces like Telugu Desam,' Amos said. He said that the Chief Minister had boldly demolished illegal structures in the Gurukul Trust lands with a single order.
He said that his party would take up development works in Telangana by bringing pressure on Government of India. MLC Bhanu Prasad Rao said 'the Congress MLCs have not joined TRS because of anger against Congress but in the interests of the development of the new State.'
MLA Indra Karan Reddy wanted the Chief Minister to pay special attention to the development of the backward district of Adilabad.
