Hunt for land on to establish AIIMS in Guntur GUNTUR: Minister for health and medical education Kamineni Srinivas has said that a super-specialty hospital on the lines of AIIMS will be set up in the district at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore.
Speaking to reporters at Mangalagiri, he said that the TB sanatorium and the APSP Battalion sites in Guntur district, and some other lands in Krishna district were being inspected for setting up of the top medical institute which requires about 200 acres.
He said that a Central Committee would visit the region within a week to examine the lands and availability of infrastructure. The minister said that the super specialty hospital would be maintained by the Centre.
