T Govt to reclaim Lanco Hills lands too SANGAREDDY: Stating that thousands of acres of Wakf land, worth thousands of crores of rupees, have been encroached upon, State Irrigation and Marketing Minister T Harish Rao has said that the TRS is committed to reclaiming all such land and utilizing the same for welfare of Muslim community.
The minister said this at a meeting of officials of the Wakf Board and the revenue department here. The government would remove all illegal constructions on the Wakf land and also enact a law if necessary to protect the land. The government would give the reclaimed Wakf land on lease and utilize the lease amount for the welfare of Muslims.
Reiterating that the TRS government was committed to taking stern action in all cases of illegal encroachments , he cited the recent demolition of illegal buildings / constructions on Gurukul Trust land in Hyderabad as an example.
