Film stars on land buying spree near Vijayawada
Vijayawada: As it has become apparent that the area surrounding Vijayawada and Guntur would be turned into the new capital city of residuary Andhra Pradesh, almost all prominent Tolywood actors started acquiring lands in that region.
The areas surrounding Achraya Nagarjuna University have reportedly been purchased by Tollywood actors Junior NTR, Srikanth, Ravi Teja, Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Ashwini Dutt.
It is also learnt that close relatives of Mohan Babu purchased the huge parcels of land near Nagarjuna University and surroundings of Gannavaram.
According to sources, about 60 acres land belonging to Ashwini Dutt and Krishnam Raju will be acquired by the state government for expansion of the Gannavaram airport.
Recently, the government also sold valuable land which was originally proposed for a tyres factory on the outskirts of Mangalagiri town.
Now, the land prices are jet speeding and each acre costs Rs 20 cr in the open market - that too with a heavy competition. Most of the business men are looking for acquiring the lands in these areas.
According to sources, a former MP and a present MP, who were in the Congress Party earlier, had purchased 200 acres each within a radius of 10 km from Mangalagiri town.
