Death toll rises to 19 in GAIL tragedy Hyderabad, June 29 (INN): The death toll in the GAIL pipeline blast at Nagaram village of East Godavari increased to 19 with one more person succumbing to severe burn injuries which he suffered on June 27.
Kasu Chinna, 20, succumbed to the burn injuries while undergoing treatment at Kakinada Hospital on Sunday morning. Earlier on Saturday, two other persons including a baby girl had succumbed to the burn injuries which they suffered in the blast.
On Friday the leakage in the gas pipeline of the Gas Authority of India (GAIL) has reportedly begun around 4.30 am and the blast took place around 5.40 a.m killing several people on the spot. Several bodies were burnt beyond the recognition due to the huge impact of the fire and children and women also include the deceased.
