KCR firm on capturing ZP chairmen posts Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao instructed his cabinet ministers to leave no stone unturned to see that the ruling TRS wins as many as chairmen posts of zilla parishads (ZPPs), mandal parishads (MPPs) and municipalities in the elections slated to be held this week. The State Election Commission has announced poll schedule for ZPP, MPP chairman posts on July 3 and 4.
Elections were already held to the posts of MPTCs, ZPTCs and to municipal councilor posts. They would elect the ZPP, MPP and municipal heads. As far as the municipalities are concerned ruling TRS has majority in 10 and the opposition Congress in 17.
About 24 municipalities have faced hung and they might go to any party. In ZPP elections, TRS has clear majority in three Zilla Parishads and Congress in one. Remaining four Zilla Parishads are up for grab. They would have cooption members like MLAs, MPs, MLCs and RS members.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed the ministers to see that the local bodies, where there was hung would, go into his party account with the help of cooption members, other parties MPTCs, ZPTCs and councilors.
