Serve notice to Nagarjuna before initiating action: HC HYDERABAD: The High Court on Wednesday directed the Telangana state government that it has to issue notice before initiating action against the N-Convention Centre belonging to actor Akkineni Nagarjuna near Gurukul Trust lands at Khanamet (Madhapur area) of the city.
Justice A Rajasheker Reddy was disposing of two petitions filed by Nagarjuna and another, challenging the action of the authorities in fixing Full Tank Level (FTL) of Thammidikunta Lake adjacent to the convention centre, without issue of notice to them.
The judge pointed out that the present petitions were filed on the premise that already FTL is fixed and the authorities were proceeding to take action without notice to the petitioners.
The judge said the Advocate-General has submitted that no FTL was fixed as on today and notice would be issued as per law as and when the FTL is fixed and fixation of FTL need not be adjudicated in the present writ petitions.
While recording the submissions of the advocate general that as and when the FTL is likely to be fixed, appropriate notice would be issued to the petitioners under relevant provisions of law, the judge disposed of the petitions.
Prior to the disposal of the petitions, Telangana Advocate-General K Ramakrishna Reddy, continuing his arguments, reiterated that the N-Convention Centre was an unauthorised and illegal structure and its application for regularisation under BRS was rejected by the GHMC.
P Sri Raghuram, senior counsel appearing for Nagarjuna, complained to the court that the authorities have forcibly entered the premises of the client without issue of notice.
S Niranjan Reddy, counsel for another petitioner, N3 Enterprises and Nalla Preetham, said the 'unilateral' action of the authorities amounts to violation of law. There was a need to issue notice to the petitioners before proceeding further, he added.
