VH questions NTR's lesson in text book Hyderabad, July 4: Legendary film actor and former CM Nandmuri Taraka Ramarao life story has been included in the social studies syllabus of Class X students. The chapter, which will be introduced from this academic year, will tell about how NTR launched his party and restored Telugu pride and also how the actor had founded the Telugudesam party against the Delhi rule, how was his film industry's entry and several other such issues were included in it. The lesson also mentioned about the 2 rupees per kg rice, Prohibition and other programmes of NTR.
The lesson also has the reference to the coup of Nadendla Bhaskar Rao when NTR went to US for bypass surgery. It explained how NTR later challenged the Governor's decision and got back in to the power after people's revolt. NTR fans have expressed their happiness over this move of Secondary School Education board.
However the move of AP government to include NTR life in text books is earning flak from some of the senior politicians. Senior Congressman and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has now leveled a criticism against the inclusion saying that it is one-sided.
He said that while all positive aspects of NTR's life have been included in the text books, the part where NTR was back-stabbed by his own people has been cleverly edited out.
'Inclusion of contemporary politicians in the text book content is fraught with dangers. When the dispensation changes, the lessons are unceremoniously removed from that books.
More dangerously, they become precedents for future politicians to include their lives in the curriculum. They need to to include how NTR was stabbed in the back and how his family members humiliated him.' VH said while addressing media.
He also pointed out that Modi had categorically mentioned that his life story should not be part of the curriculum.
