T'gana Govt reclaims 16 Acres from APFDC HYDERABAD: The Telangana government took back another 'unused' land of 16 acres, this time from the Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation (APFDC). The corporation was allotted around 20 acres on road no 76, Jubilee Hills (survey no 403) way back in 1983 by the then State government for film development activities.
But the APFDC hasn't taken up any development activity on the land in the last three decades. Part of the land was encroached during this period and a basti of sorts has come up in about four acres.
Now, the Telangana government, which is determined to reclaim unused land, has decided to take back the allotted land from the APFDC.
In fact, previous governments (of the undivided AP) had slapped notices on the APFDC directing it to use the land. However, despite repeated reminders, the corporation has failed to initiate any film related development works in the area.
Hyderabad Collector Mukesh Kumar Meena directed Shaikpet MRO to take possession of the land and brought it to the notice of the AP Land Management Authority (APLMA) . The APLMA, headed by CCLA, wanted the Collector to take action.
