T Govt to defer Eng, Medicine admissions Hyderabad, July 5 (INN): The Government of Telangana will file an appeal in the Supreme Court for extending the date of completion of admission process in to professional courses based on EAMCET exams like Engineering and Medicine till the end of October 2014, instead of August 1st 2014 as directed earlier by the court.
This decision was taken at a high level review meeting of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao attended by the Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy, Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma, Spl.
Chief Secretary Raymond Peter, Prl. Secy to Chief Minister S Narsing Rao, Secretary Education Vikas Raj, Commissioner Technical Education. Sailaja Ramayyar and Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy. The Chief Minister requested the Advocate General to file the appeal on Monday.
Explaining the reasons, the Chief Minister briefed the Advocate General and officials that after bifurcation of the State, cadre allocation has not yet taken place and as such there is lot of requirement to government of Telangana of All India Services.
Out of an estimated requirement of about 320 IAS, IPS and IFS officers at present under work to order instructions only 70 such officers are working, each of them holding more than 2 to 3 subjects.
The chief Minister said it is becoming difficult to work with shortage of officers and fee reimbursement being a huge subject which requires lot of exercise the cutoff date of completion of admission process need to be extended till end of October.
The Advocate General has been asked by the Chief Minister to pursue the matter. Ghanta Chakrapani attended the meeting as a special invitee.
