'Mana Ooru', to be slogan of TRS govt HYDERABAD: 'Mana Ooru-Mana Abhivruddhi' (our village and our development) is the new slogan of the TRS government. With a view to giving a new direction to development of the state, the government is set to roll out four different plans for village, mandal, district and State levels.
After unveiling the plans, the government wants to involve all the stakeholders in the process of development. 'People will be involved in the development of 'Bangaru Telangana' to create a feeling among themselves that it is their village and they will be benefited with the development of their village,' sources said.
Towards achieving this, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is holding a marathon meeting with senior officials on Monday at MCR HRD. Ministers, State government advisors and district Collectors and Joint Collectors will attend the meeting.
At the day-long meeting, the Chief Minister will explain the priorities of his government and give broad guidelines on how it wants to develop the new state.
Based on these guidelines, the officials will prepare four different plans for village, mandal, district and State levels. The government is of the view that the earlier schemes and programmes were prepared keeping united AP in mind.
Thus, Telangana lost focus and remained underdeveloped. 'Now, the focus is to prepare plans keeping the needs and aspirations of the people of Telangana in mind,' an official said.
Chief Minister Rao is determined to make Hyderabad as international city. The officials will come out with an exclusive plan for the city. Likewise, Rao is intended to irrigate one lakh acres in every Assembly segment, to provide free education from KG to PG.
The State government is also planning to tap natural resources and mineral wealth in Telangana to set up industries and provide employment to the youth.
One such effort is to ask SAIL to establish a steel industry in Bayyaram. Sources said the Chief Minister may direct the officials to scrap some Acts and amend some to suit the needs of Telangana.
Modi model in study?
A close aide of the Chief Minister in the CMO is preparing the ground for the Chief Minister's views for Monday's meeting. The close aide is seen studying the recent book 'Centrestage: Inside the Narendra Modi Model of Governance'.
Though the TRS does not move closely with the BJP, the book explains Modi's development mantra and how Modi had succeeded as Chief Minister. Sources said the officials are studying various models to implement the best for Telangana.
