Raw deal to Telugu states in Railway Budget New Delhi, July 8: The Railway budget introduced by Sadananda Gowda ended up as a major disappointment for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The first railway budget in NDA government allotted no new projects to the newly carved states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but only promised to complete the existing 29 pending projects. While Sadananda Gowda's maiden budget focused on several commuter friendly initiatives, it was however not kind to AP and Telangana.
The Telugu states has got only six new trains which also includes 2 semi-bullet trains and one ac premium train. The other major allocation which will benefit Andhra Pradesh is linking of all the ports under a project 'Sagaramala' with public private partnership. A Committee was appointed to decide on the facilities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
However, it is obvious that Railway minister Gowda mostly focused on security, amenities, bullet & high-speed trains while sliding away from the new rail projects and new tracts.
Here are the details of six new trains to AP, Telangana
Secunderabad-Nizamuddin Premium Express
Vijayawada-New Delhi AC Express
Paradeep-Visakhapatnam Weekly Express
Visakhapatnam-Chennai Weekly Express
Chennai-Hyderabad Semi Bullet Train
Nagpur-Secunderabad Semi Bullet Train
