Hyderabad to be first Wi-fi enabled city HYDERABAD: The Telangana government is working on a project to make Hyderabad the first wi-fi enabled city in the country, IT and panchayat raj minister KT Ramarao, has said.
Addressing the students of Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology on their graduation day here on Tuesday, he said with several firms coming forward to provide 4G technology it is very much possible to make Hyderabad a WiFi zone.
Talking about his plans to develop IT sector in the city, the minister said ''With around 200 engineering colleges in and around Hyderabad, the city is producing lakhs of engineers every year.
However, 90 p.c. of them are not ready for employment. We have requested the IT companies to adopt 1,000 students in the third year of their course and train them according to the industry needs,' he said.
