AP team to visit US, UK to get IT investments HYDERABAD: Stating that the government would be coming out with a new information technology policy for the development of the sector in Andhra Pradesh, Information Technology Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy said he will be soon leading a high powered delegation to US and UK to get IT firms invest in the state.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat here, Raghunath Reddy said as there is good scope for development of IT sector in the state, he would be visiting US and UK along with officials to attract leading IT companies to the state.
'Already, a number of multinational IT companies are in touch with the government and showing interest in investing in the state. In order to personally meet them and explain about the opportunities available, we have decided to visit these two countries,' he said.
The IT minister said already about 70 leading IT companies have given assurance that they would be setting up their companies in the state.
'The government had consultations with over 250 IT company officials and most of them are showing interest in investing in the state,' he said. He said the government would be soon introducing a 'single window system' on the lines of Gujarat to help investors.
'Single window system would help the investors to get all the facilities and sanctions under one roof, making the job easier,' he explained. With AP being provided special category status, it would be beneficial for industries to invest in the state, he said.
He said already there is a proposal for the creation of Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Visakhapatnam and there are plans to develop Vijayawada, Tirupati and Anantapur into mega IT hubs.
