Telangana population less than four crore Hyderabad : Its official now, the population of Telangana is not four crore. To be exact, the population of the 29th State of India is 3,52,93,978 comprising over a 1.77 crore male and over 1.74 crore female population.
According to the full book of statistical year released by the Telangana government, Rangareddy district is the most populated district in Telangana with 15.5 per cent of the state's population residing there (52,96,741).
Mahabubnagar district is second most populated with 11.52 per cent of the total population (40,53,028). Nizamabad district is the least populated with 7.25 per cent of the total population (25,51,335).
As per the 2001 census, Hyderabad district was the most populated with 12.36 per cent of the Telangana population. The second was Rangareddy district with 11.54 per cent population and the last was Nizamabad with 7.57 per cent of the total population. As per religion wise population, there are 2.66 crore Hindus, a majority in the State.
There are 38.53 lakh Muslims constituting 11 per cent of the population. There are 3,84,373 Christians and 23,821 Sikhs. Hyderabad is most densely populated district in Telangana with 18,172 people per square kilometre followed by Rangareddy 707 per square km.
Adilabad is the least densely populated with 170 people per square km. During the 2001 census also Hyderabad remained top with 17,649 persons per sq km and Adilabad being last with 154 persons per sq km.
