Naidu to write to KCR on fee row HYDERABAD: AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu once again appealed to his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao to settle the matter relating to fee reimbursement to Andhra students in Telangana at the earliest so that the process of Eamcet counselling can begin.
He said that he would be shortly writing letter to KCR on the issue. 'In the interest of students of both the states the Telangana government should immediately take decision on the fee reimbursement.
Let us first begin the process of Eamcet counselling and latter the issue of fee reimbursement could be settled. If the engineering counselling is delayed because of the dilly-dallying in finalising the fee reimbursement policy of Telangana government, a majority of the students will prefer taking admissions in colleges in neighbouring States,' he warned.
Naidu recalled that the AP State Reorganisation Act clearly specified that Eamcet would be conducted for 10 years by considering Telangana and AP as one unit. But the Telangana government was trying to finalise its policy on fee reimbursement.
He said that the Presidential Order had laid down the criteria on how to decide the nativity hence the Telangana state have to abide by it. Last week, the Telangana government said that it will file an appeal in the Supreme Court to extend the deadline for completing the admission process by Oct citing insufficient number of bureaucrats to work out the modalities of the fee scheme.
