Telangana blamed for delay in Engg counselling HYDERABAD: Stating that his government was ready to start Eamcet counselling, Andhra Pradesh education minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has blamed the Telangana government for the present situation.
Speaking to reporters after releasing the results of the advanced supplementary examination of the 10th class at the Secretariat here on Sunday, Rao said that though his government was keen on solving the issue of fee reimbursement at the earliest, the Telangana government was not responding positively.
'Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had written a letter to his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao but till now there has been no response from him. I personally spoke to Telangana education minister on the issue but he too is not responding positively. Despite so many efforts being made by the AP government, the Telangana government is not responding which is very unfortunate.'
He said that keeping the future of students of both the states in mind, the Telangana government should take a decision on the fee reimbursement issue at the earliest.
Criticising the Telangana government for raking up the issue of nativity, he said that it was unnecessarily making the nativity an issue and playing with the lives of lakhs of Telugu students. 'The state cannot decide on the nativity of a person. There are rules for deciding nativity in the country and hence using it as a tool to spread panic among the people of Andhra Pradesh is not in good spirit.'
The education minister said that the state government has decided to do away with Teachers Eligibility Test (TET). The government had already asked the Attorney General to look into issue and take measures to avoid legal problems arriving due to cancellation of TET. However, this would be done from next academic year.
He said that he would be holding a meeting of Regional Education Officers and District Education Officers on July 16 .
