BJP demands merger of entire Bhadrachalam with AP RAJAHMUNDRY: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive member Somu Veerraju has demanded that the Union government merge the entire Bhadrachalam division with Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to reporters at the Press Club here, he said the BJP leaders will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and submit a memorandum in this regard shortly. Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is creating hurdles to the Indira Sagar Project, he felt.
In the name of harm to tribal community, the Telangana CM is trying to stall the multi-prupose project, Veerraju said and made it clear that BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh will not spare any BJP leader from Telangana state, including Vidyasagar Rao, if they try to stop the Indira Sagar Project. They have no right to speak about the project which is a boon to the people of the twin Godavari districts.
BJP will mount pressure on the state government to provide good relief and rehabiliation package to the evacuees of the project. BJP leaders KB Singh, ABR Krishna and others were present.
