BJP will have no truck with TDP in GHMC polls Hyderabad: It looks like the honeymoon between Bharatiya Janata Party and Telugu Desam Party is over with Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy making it amply clear that they would contest the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections on its own without having an alliance with any party.
'We are not thinking of an alliance with any other party. We will contest in all the wards in the Greater elections,' said Kishan Reddy said during a press conference on Tuesday.
Greater elections are slated this year end. The BJP, which had a poll tie-up with the TDP in the recently-concluded General Election, had suffered defeat in Telangana districts and could manage only a few seats in Hyderabad.
BJP leaders from Telangana districts tried to impress upon the high command during the last elections not to have an alliance with the TDP.
Most of the BJP cadre was not happy with the high command's decision to take TDP on board. The leaders, during the review meetings, expressed that the alliance with TDP had cost them many seats in Telangana.
