Naidu vows to implement loan waiver
ELURU: Blaming the Congress government for dividing the state in a haphazard manner and pushing Andhra Pradesh into fiscal deficit, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu Wednesday promised to fulfil all his poll promises and sought public cooperation in this regard.
He assured that the TDP government would fulfil its promise to waive crop loans in a phased manner. 'However, we urge the people to cooperate with us as the financial condition of the state government is not encouraging at the moment and give us some time to bring the situation back on track,' he said.
Naidu, who was on a whirlwind tour of West Godavari district for the first time after assuming charges as chief minister, rained sops on the district for giving absolute majority for TDP candidates in the recent polls.
He said that he would prove his honesty by fulfilling all poll promises. He arrived at Dwaraka Tirumala and had the darshan before leaving for Tadicherla village where he addressed a public meeting. Later, he headed to Kamaravarapukota where he interacted with farmers.
Despite various hurdles, the chief minister claimed that the Indira Sagar Project would be completed within four years with the support of the Union government.
He promised to implement the welfare schemes effectively to improve the living standards of the state.
Plans ahead
1. Development of Dwaraka Tirumala on the lines of Tirumala and as a model township.
2. Inter, degree and engineering colleges along with a medical college with a 500-bed hospital in Dwaraka Tirumala.
3. Nithyannadanam scheme at Dwaraka Tirumala temple with `5 crore to be released by TTD.
4. Drip irrigation equipment to farmers at 90 per cent subsidised prices.
