KCR to declare war on Centre HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that he would declare a war against the central government if it gave more powers to the Governor in common capital area.
Speaking to reporters here, the Chief Minister said: 'We will not tolerate if the Central government encroached upon powers of the State government'. He said that the government sent the replies to the memo sent by the Centre on the role of Governor in common capital.
'If the Centre gave more powers, I will convene a meeting of Chief Ministers of the country and lodge my strong protest,' Rao declared.
On the encroachments of lands in the city,the Chief Minister said that they would protect the every inch of land in the city. 'I have no enmity towards any one. But, I am vindictive towards corrupt people and land grabbers,' Rao said.
He added that the government identified 60,000 illegal structures in Hyderabad alone. 'There are big scandals in every scheme. Fee reimbursement, ration cards, housing scheme have defects in their implementation in the past,' the Chief Minister. There would be no compromise with regard to law and order in the city. 'If necessary I will become like Ugra Narasimha,' Rao said.
The Chief Minister said that he would tour along with experts in three to four helicopters soon to identify the sites for the new irrigation projects.
'We are planning to take the permission of ATC for low flying to see the places along rivers,' Chandrasekhar Rao said. He said that the Jalayagnam became 'Dhana Yagnam' of `10,000 cr every year.
Advice to Naidu
On the issues raked up by AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu like cancellation of power purchase agreements and fee reimbursement scheme, Rao alleged that Naidu was violating Acts and blaming others.
He advised Naidu that the neighbouring states should cooperate with each other. 'We are geographical neighbours. We cannot drag issues,' Rao said.
