AP to TS codes: Minister assures to extend deadline Hyderabad, July 17 (INN): Telangana Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy on Thursday assured the owners of two and four wheeler vehicles that the State Government would provide sufficient time to register their vehicles with TS letters and district codes.
Speaking to media persons at Bus Bhavan here, Mahender Reddy said that several steps were being taken for the smooth registration of codes from AP to TS in the new State.
He informed that a user-friendly website would also be launched to complete the process. The government will extend the present four-month deadline to complete the process of registration with new codes, he said.
The minister also informed that a committee was being set up for the bifurcation of APSRTC into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He said that the committee would study the division of assets and liabilities of the present RTC and suggest measures for the smooth bifurcation of the corporation.
Stating that there were no plans to increase the RTC fares, Mahender Reddy said that the Telangana Government would first focus on improving the services. He said that the government plans to start 21 new bus depots and extend the RTC services to 1300 villages in the next four-five months. He said 80 new Volvo buses would be added to the RTC fleet soon.
