KCR's new camp office in Judge's quarters HYDERABAD: The camp office dilemma for Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is far from over. After dilly-dallying over the existing camp office at Begumpet which KCR finally moved into but not before finalising and then abandoning the idea of having the camp office at Kundanbagh, plans are now afoot to construct a new camp-office-cum-residence -- just across the road from the current premises at Begumpet where presently a judge resides.
Top sources told that the existing judge's quarter would be turned into a camp office for KCR and the huge vacant portion behind the quarter would be turned into his residence.
Behind the vacant land is the old office of the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB), which, sources said, would be used by the security personnel of the Chief Minister. The SIB would continue to function from the new building in the same premises. 'The modalities for the new complex are being worked out. The camp office and residence will be strictly as per vaastu,' sources said.
It is, however, not clear as to how the government proposes to use the existing camp office once KCR moves into his new camp office-cum-residence. It is also not known why, after moving into the Begumpet office, was again a decision taken to have an altogether new premises.
Initially, Chandrasekhar Rao was to move into a new camp office at Kundanbagh after rejecting the idea to function from Begumpet office as he felt that three Chief Ministers, who occupied the premises, had faced difficult times.
In fact, two adjoining bungalows in the Minister's quarters at Kundanbagh were to serve as the new camp office and even its occupants -- one IAS and another, IPS officers AK Parida and M Mahender Reddy -- respectively were asked to vacate the premises immediately and a GO was also issued in this regard.
However, later, it was again decided that KCR would function from the present camp office at Begumpet and the idea of operating from Kundanbagh was shelved. KCR moved into the Begumpet camp office after performing a 'puja'.
