Woman TC 'pulled down' from train HYDERABAD: A 26-year-old woman ticket collector (TC) had a narrow escape on Friday morning when a ticket less passenger allegedly pulled her down from a moving MMTS train at Hafeezpet railway station.
Had the incident taken place a few seconds later, the injuries the TC, N Geetha, suffered could have been life-threatening as the train began to pick up speed soon after she fell down.
'The passenger got down from the train while it was moving slowly and pulled my bag. I fell down on the platform,' said Geetha narrating the sequence of events, adding the train started to pick up speed as soon as she fell down.
The TC suffered injuries on her chin and bruises on nose, forehead and hands. It was only a month ago she was appointed a TC in MMTS train. Husband JT Yadav, a TC himself, said Geetha caught a person traveling without ticket and levied a fine of Rs 260.
'The passenger told her that he would ask a friend to bring Rs 500 and hand it over to her at the next station. Geetha issued him Rs 240 change and receipt of paying the fine in advance,' Yadav said.
However, S Chandrasekhar Reddy, Superintendent, Government Railway Police (GRP), Secunderabad, said Geetha gave a contradictory account of the incident.
