APCC chief flays Naidu on loan waiver
Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president N Raghuveera Reddy hit out at Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, alleging that he was changing his stand on a daily basis on the farm loan waiver issue.
Addressing a meeting of Congress workers in the town, intended to strengthen the party, he said APCC would organise agitations by involving people against the TDP government's 'anti-people' policies.
The APCC chief accused Naidu of making lofty promises before the elections, but after coming to power he was making the people's life miserable. He said he would undertake a door-to-door campaign to expose the government's failures.
Reddy criticized Naidu for 'cheating' people by failing to sign the files he had promised while assuming office, for putting up 'hundis' to 'rob' the people and taking into the ministry non-legislators.
He wondered why no Muslim was made a State minister, claiming that Muslims in the State were feeling insecure in view of the TDP-BJP alliance.
He announced that the APCC executive along with committees at all levels would be constituted within a month. Committees for the 20 affiliated organisations would also be formed.
Those who work for the party would be given importance in these posts. He said the second phase of training classes would be organised from the State to mandal level.
The APCC president named former MLAs Malladi Vishnu, D Y Das and Atluri Subba Rao as Guntur district observers. He criticised the party leaders who deserted it after enjoying posts and left to protect their business interests.
Reddy reviewed the party status with the persons in-charge of the constituencies in Guntur and Krishna districts. Former ministers and party leaders from the districts attended the meeting.
