APTDC to rach out to tourists' doorsteps
TIRUPATI: In a novel way to boost tourism in the region, especially the pilgrimage tourism, the AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has decided to reach out to the people at their doorsteps.
An APTDC source told that the corporation would send its executives to house of any would-be tourist to apprise him or her of the available tour packages.
Similarly, the coporation would send its tourist cars or SUVs or buses to the houses of the customers as part of the new initiative. He explained that the special tour packages would cover all major pilgrim centres like Srisailam, Mahanandi, Ahobhilam, Yaganti, Vijayawada Bhadrachalam, Annavaram, Simhachalam and Antarvedi.
Similarly, tourist centres like Horsely Hills, Araku, Visakhapatnam, Konaseema, etc., and popular beaches like Rishikonda, Suryalanka and Mypadu would also be included.
As part of the special packages, apart from transportation, accommodation at APTDC hotels and 'darshan' facilities at temples would also be provided, he added.
The tour would start right from the house of the tourist as the corporation would be sending the vehicle to his or her doorstep, he said and added that only the vehicles of APTDC would be used for the packages. For the safety and security of the tourists, experienced and trained drivers would be engaged along with guides.
For any information about the packages, the customer could call the APTDC and the the corporation executive would then visit the house of the caller and explain the package and would book the tour.
