Survey aimed at terrorising Seemandhra people: TDP Hyderabad, Aug 2 (INN): Kadapa TDP President Linga Reddy on Saturday alleged that the proposed "Intensive Household Survey" was aimed at terrorising people of Seemandhra region living in Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Linga Reddy said that surveys should be done by the Centre under the direct supervision of Governor.
However, by proposing to conduct IHS by itself, the Telangana Government was planning to target the people of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, especially those living in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
He dismissed the claims of Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao wherein he stated that only 32% people living in Hyderabad are locals. However, he said if 68% of the tax payers in Hyderabad hail from Seemandhra region, then what was wrong in Telangana Government making fee reimbursement for their children.
Linga Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of playing with the lives of innocent students for political gains. He said KCR was preparing for the next elections by making nativity an issue.
He said it was impossible for anyone to furnish proof of their nativity since 1956. Alleging that KCR was playing a dangerous political game, he said that the Chief Minister would pay a heavy price for the same.
