AP gvot plans payments through mobile Hyderabad, Aug 4 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu discussed about a pilot project on integration of government payments through mobile phones.
In a meeting with the Vodafone delegation, the Chief Minister advised the panel to look into simplifying payments of bills, pension and other issues via mobile phones. The delegation replied in the affirmative and said they would come back with an action plan and give a presentation to the Chief Minister.
According to the pilot project, the plan will be implemented in one district and if it succeeds, it will be extended to all the other districts of Andhra Pradesh. The AP government said it will facilitate expansion of their services and remove hurdles for greater network coverage.
Through this, the government aims to make broadband services available to all villages. This is also one of the plans of the state government included in the new IT policy that suggests focus on SMAC (Social media, mobile, analytics and could) technologies.
