Tatas ready to go the distance, Mistry tells KCR HYDERABAD: Tata Group has come forward to extend full cooperation in development of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry called on Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao (Telangana) and N Chandrababau Naidu (AP) separately on Wednesday.
During his interaction with Telangana Chief Minister, Mistry praised the proposed industrial policy of Telangana as good and hoped it would help industries flouish in the state.
Mistry assured that Tata Group would help Telangana government in developing IT, rural development, Hyderabad, free education from KG to PG, health and other sectors.
KCR wanted Tata group to involve in the process of reconstruction of Telangana. He explained the Telangana state's plans in various sectors, including health and education.
Rao informed Mistry that a survey of lands is currently going on in the state and the state would come out with the best industrial policy in the country.
He said Hyderabad has around 1,700 notified slums and the government has to provide housing, roads and other basic amenities in these slums. The Chief Minister sought the help of Tata Group in consultancy, preparation of plans and other aspects.
In turn, Mistry told Rao that the Tatas were not only working in IT and education, but also expanded to other core sectors. Mistry assured full cooperation to Telangana government. He said that Tatas has a lot of material and manpower in teaching side and they would give the same to Telangana state.
Mistry said representatives of Tatas would tour villages and give suitable suggestions to the government.
Welcoming Rao's idea of making Hyderabad a slum-free city, Mistry said that Tatas would give suggestions for the same. Mistry felt that the slums should be remodelled as the low income groups too should live in better living standards.
SMART CITIES IN AP
The Tatas agreed to build smart cities in Andhra Pradesh. Mistry told AP Chief Minister Naidu that besides building up Smart cities, the Tatas would work with AP government in IT, knowledge and skill development sectors.
Mistry said that Tata group would extend full cooperation in implementation of NTR Sujala Scheme, supplying of potable water at subsidised price to villagers.
