KCR blames RBI for delay on loan waiver Nizamabad, Aug 7 (INN): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday reiterated his commitment to waive off agricultural loans.
Addressing a meeting at Armoor during his day-long visit to the district, KCR said that the promise of farm loan waiver could not be implemented due to some objections raised by the Reserve Bank of India. However, he said steps were being taken to clear all the hurdles and the promise would be implemented at any cost. He said that the scheme would benefit nearly 39,000 families of farmers in Telangana State.
Recalling the promises made by the TRS in its manifesto, KCR said that the government was already working on the same. Alleging largescale corruption in the housing scheme implemented by the previous Congress regime, he said that a probe has been ordered into the same and stern action would be taken against the guilty.
He assured that the TRS Government would provide two-bed room houses at a cost of Rs 3.5 lakh each to the homeless people. He said modern housing colonies with all the facilities would be constructed soon.
Earlier, KCR laid the foundation stone for a water treatment plan which would be completed within one year. The Chief Minister also promised to construct a 100-bed hospital in Armoor.
He also assured that water would be supplied to 18 villages through Gufta Lift Irrigation project. He said that the government would provide financial assistance to the beedi workers and new pension scheme for handicapped persons would be implemented from Deepavali.
Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Nizamabad MP K Kavitha and other leaders and officials were present during the Chief Minister's visit.
