Naidu to gift tablet PCs to 10,000 officers
VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked the district collectors to think 'out of the box' in order to play a crucial role in the development of the state. He has announced that the government is planning to distribute about 10,000 tablet PCs to important officers for better coordination and administration.
Addressing the district collectors' conference here Thursday, he said, 'The collectors, who work at the ground level, have to implement the policies adopted by the government properly. Only then, the people will allow the government to continue in the office after five years,' he said.
Speaking on the need for usage of Information Technology in the administration for the sake of transparency and better coordination, he said that he would extend all support to the officials if they work sincerely.
'During the last 10 years, several officers had yielded to the government's pressure, spoiling their careers. This has demoralised the administration. I shall offer support to you if you work with dedication and honesty,' he said and asked the collectors to ensure that all people should have Aadhaar cards to get the benefits from the government.
Earlier, Dy CM KE Krishna Murthy asked the district collectors to identify vacant government lands. He asked the officials to use advanced technology like GPS application in the survey of lands. The Dy CM also asked the officials to take steps for proper disposal of solid waste and also identify lands for the graveyards.
Collectors from 13 districts, ministers Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, Palle Raghunatha Reddy, P Narayana, Prathipati Pulla Rao, Kamineni Srinivas, K Atchennaidu, Sidda Raghava Rao, Kimidi Mrunalini, Kollu Ravindra, Ravela Kishore Babu, Peethala Sunitha and P Manikyla Rao attended the meeting.
