I-Day gift: Telangana Govt to give land to Dalits Hyderabad: The State Cabinet decided to launch the land distribution scheme to the landless Dalits on the occasion of Independence Day, on August 15.
The government has decided to purchase land if required for distribution. The cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, has discussed for four hours on several issues.
Celebrating Independence Day at Golconda Fort, issuing of notification for counselling for the students for admissions into engineering and medical colleges through TSHEC and the status of crop loan waiver scheme were discussed.
The Cabinet also discussed the Centre's directive giving powers to the Governor on the policing in Hyderabad. It has rejected the Centre's decision and decided to convey its protest to the Centre.
