Naidu reviews coal blocks with officials Hyderabad, Aug 14 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the status of Coal Blocks allotted to APGENCO and APMDC in his camp office in Lakeview Guest House here on Thursday.
Senior officials including APMDC VC&MD Shalini Misra, Secretary to CM G Saiprasad, Energy Secretary Ajay Jain, APGENCO MD K Vijayanand and Mines and Geology Direcctor Susheel Kumar attended the meeting.
The Chief Miniter was informed that the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, has allotted Nuagon Telisahi (Odisha), Suliyari Belwar (Madhya Pradesh) and Sarpal-Naupara (Odisha) to APGENCO and APMDC. The officials briefed the Chief Minister about the present status of the coal blocks.
The Chief Minister directed the APGENCO MD to expedite the works of Sarpal-Naupara Coal Block. Similarly, APMDC VC & MD was directed to take steps for expediting the works of Nuagon Telisahi and Suliyari Belwar Coal Blocks.
The APMDC MD informed the Chief Minister that production from Suliyari Belwar Coal Block would commence by January 2016. Naidu also directed the APGENCO MD to take steps for grounding the end use projects for these Coal Blocks.
Further, APMDC MD informed the Chief Minister that 1000 Million MT of Coal reserves are available in coal fields falling in West Godavari and Krishna districts in Southern Sub-basin of Chintalapudi.
The Chief Minister then directed him to take immediate steps for getting the Geological survey done and necessary action plan prepared immediately.
