Survey not for nativity, says KCR HYDERABAD: Making it clear that the proposed 'comprehensive household survey' is intended to eliminate the bogus beneficiaries of government schemes, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made an appeal to people of the State to take part in this programme.
'The government wants to gather some facts about every household in the state so as to implement target-oriented welfare schemes for various sections of people. But, it is not mandatory for citizens to disclose all their details such as bank account number during the survey,' he said.
Coming down heavily on some of his political rivals who are disapproving of the proposed survey by terming him a Hitler, KCR remarked, 'The survey is aimed at eliminating the bogus beneficiaries, who are availing government schemes, as well as identifying the genuine beneficiaries. Yes, I am a Hitler as far as dealing with those people who are swindling public money is concerned.'
Speaking to reporters here, he tried to allay the fears of Seemandhra people in Hyderabad saying that the survey was not intended to trace the nativity of people living in Telangana. 'To achieve this purpose, our government has issued a GO by fixing 1956 as cut-off date,' he said.
The chief minister said RTC buses would not be run on August 19 when the 'intensive household survey' would be conducted.
