Metro Rail goes for re-alignment: near Assembly Hyderabad: Telangan chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said the alignment of the 'metro rail' in Hyderabad would be appropriately modified to protect the heritage structures.
For instance, the alignment would be changed near the Assembly building and also at Sultan Bazar in Koti. Instead of laying the track in front of the Assembly premises, the alignment would be reconstructed at the backside of the Assembly premises over the quarters of police officers. At Sultan Bazar, the rail structure would be reconstructed at Koti Women's College.
Derecognition of Engg Colleges: Defending JNTU-Hyderabad's decision to cancel the permissions to some engineering colleges situated in and around Hyderabad due to lack of proper infrastructure, the chief minister said falling standards in professional colleges was contributing to production of sub-standard engineering professionals.
'If bridges are constructed by such engineers, they will fall down. Who will be responsible for this?' he asked. Hence the decision to make it mandatory for engineering colleges to concentrate on developing soft-skills among students, he added.
