'Yes, I'm a Hitler for thieves' Hyderabad: Blaming a section of media for misleading people on the intensive household survey on August 19 by State government and the Opposition for making a hue and cry on the subject, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said that he was a Hitler for thieves who indulge in illegal activities. Addressing media here, KCR said that the government would complete whatever it had decided (intensive survey).
He reprimanded Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy and others for allegedly making hue and cry about the survey. 'We wanted to know facts as there are more ration cards than households in the state. But some political parties are making a hue and cry about the survey.
Is opposing government decisions, the prime duty of opposition parties? Don't oppose everything, it would boomerang on you and you will end up as jokers in the society,' said KCR.
"The opposition parties had opposed celebrations at Golconda, but now everybody is appreciating the government's decision. Golconda is now on the world tourist map and very soon it will find a place in the List of World Heritage sites, thereby increasing international tourist inflow," he said.
Reacting to the Hitler comment by some political parties, KCR said, 'Yes I am a Hitler, I am a Hitler for thieves and people who do illegal activities,' said KCR.
'This survey is not to target anybody, but to provide government schemes to eligible beneficiaries. This is not to decide about the nativity because government has already decided nativity by issuing a GO, so there is nothing hidden. How fast can you deliver in 60 days? It is a beginning. There are many schemes. KCR is not afraid.
Government is taking positive steps and added that even courts have supported the decision of the government. It is better for the people of the state to take part in survey and it will not be stopped,' he added.
The chief minister said that the fee reimbursement scheme by the earlier government was scrapped and now only FAST (Financial Support to Students of Telangana) was being implemented. The CM was critical about a section of media and alleged that it was misleading people in the city.
He said that no one would force individuals for information and the people can tell whatever they want to. On the question of migration from other states in the survey, Rao said that it was false news by 'Yellow journalists' and there was nothing like that.
'There is no letter from Union Home ministry. Spreading canards that people are afraid of survey is not true. Survey will be a success as people are coming to their homes from different places,' said Rao.
Stating that nobody has read the AP Reorganization Act like he did and knows every issue in the Act, KCR said that there are no additional powers to the governor in the Act. 'When the bifurcation bill was introduced, Andhra media and leaders tried to create hurdles. To pacify them, Centre had included the phrases from Article 163 of Constitution.
For making any change, it needed amendment in Constitution, but the Centre had no majority in Rajya Sabha. To overcome this, it only reiterated the sentence from Article 163,' said KCR.
"Whatever powers are there for Maharashtra Governor, the same powers are there to the Telangana governor," he added. Replying to a question, KCR said that the State would have a single police system and added that the government was studying at different options.
