Birla's to set up cement factory in Kurnool Hyderabad, Aug 18 (INN): Contributing to Andhra Pradesh government's plans in establishing cement factories in the state, Birla HomeTech executives met Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu here on Monday.
The executives evinced interest in setting up a cement factory in Petnikota village of Kovelakunta mandal in Kurnool district. The company officials informed the Chief Minister that the plant would provide about 4,000 jobs for locals.
Assuring that the state government would help the company, the Chief Minister said that the government would help them with the resources they would require.
He also added that the state is rich in minerals and that the cement from the plant could be used by the government for other infrastructure projects too.
The Chief Minister added that such plants should be set up in other parts of the state because they would provide employment to locals. He added that Kurnool would play a major role in the Bangalore-Chennai industrial corridor.
