BJP keen to make inroads into TRS bastion Hyderabad: With eyes on capturing the prestigeous Medak Lok Sabha seat and emerge as a power to be reckoned with in Telangana State, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had decided to adopt an aggressive stance.
It is not leaving a single opportunity to project the ruling TRS as ineffective and resorting to propaganda that the government is dilly-dallying on many promises made to the people of Telangana during elections.
The party, which is relying on Modi magic to help overcome the odds, wants to project that if the party candidate wins the elections, he will be able to bring more funds from the Central Government to develop the constituency in every way possible.
It is learnt that party state leadership, under G Kishna Reddy, had a brainstorming session with BJP president Amit Shah as to what strategy needs to be adopted and also on the likely candidates for the byelection. The party, which wants to repeat the success of A Narendra in 1999, is searching for the right candidate.
The names of former MLA K Satyanarayana, party district president K Bucchi Reddy, businessman from Patancheru Anji Reddy, BJP senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy and party leader Baddam Bal Reddy are under consideration.
Meanwhile, a couple of leaders from other parties are keen on joining the saffron party, if the opportunity to contest is given to them. Those aspiring for TRS ticket for the byelection are also ready to jump into the BJP in case they are denied the ticket. The final decision is likely to be taken in a couple of days.
