KTR adds force to marathon run
Hyderabad: The response to Airtel Hyderabad Marathon held on Sunday was overwhelming with hundreds of athletes and thousands of enthusiasts lined up for the race before sunrise.
The marathon, which started at People's Plaza on the Necklace Road at 5 am culminated at the Gachibowli Stadium after covering Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Hitec City. The marathon was flagged off by City Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy.
The Run featured three categories of races ' full marathon (42.195 km), half-marathon and the most popular 5 K run from the GMC Balayogi Stadium. A veteran of 40 marathons, Bill Pierce, who is also the event's ambassador, participated in the event along with several foreign athletes and runners from other states.
Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao participated in the event along with his daughter. Later, he gave away the Corporate Trophy to United Health Group. Film actor Daggubati Rana, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand and others were present on the occasion.
