Telangana Congr puts up impressive show of unity Hyderabad, Aug 24 (INN): Contrary to the expectations of major fireworks, the Telangana Congress has successfully managed to put up an impressive show of unity during the workshop that began at Sri Indu Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam on Sunday.
Nearly 1100 Congress leaders including 238 PCC delegates, 238 Block Presidents, 70 District and Town Presidents, 120 District Cell President, 37 MLAs, MLCs and MPs, 100 MPP and ZPP, 100 corporators, about 250 PCC body members and other leaders participated in the workshop.
Some workers tried to disrupt the plenary session demanding that the workers be given an opportunity to speak. However, AICC Secretary Digvijay Singh first assured them 10 different groups have been formed to facilitate all the workers to express their views.
When some workers again disrupted the speech of AICC General Secretary RC Kuntaiah, Digvijay Singh warned that those creating trouble would be immediately suspended from the party. Later, all the leaders actively took part in the Group Discussion which lasted for about six hours.
While addressing the plenary session, PCC Working President Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party has failed to approach the people properly with lists of achievement. Same views were expressed by PCC Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah.
Deputy CLP Leader in Telangana Legislative Council moved a resolution paying tributes to the martyrs of Telangana and also the farmers who committed suicide in the recent past. His resolution was supported by Kisan Cell chairman M Kodanda Reddy.
In his speech, RC Kuntaiah, asked the workers to introspect the reasons for their failure to convince the people on the party's role in getting statehood for Telangana region. He also asked them to plan the strategy for the next five years. Addressing the workers, Digvijay Singh expressed confidence of making a vigorous come back in Telangana.
