AIS officers' shifting to take more time HYDERABAD: It will take some more days for the IAS and IPS officers working in one state (AP or Telangana) and allocated to another to join duties.
Though, the department of personnel and training (DoPT) placed the list of IAS and IPS officers allotted to AP and TS cadres, the officials in both the states are yet to receive official communication from the Centre on allocation of AIS officers.
'The list provided on the DoPT website is just for information sake. We have not received any official communication on allotment of officers,' said an official in the Telangana Secretariat.
Once the chief secretaries of the two states receive official communication from the DoPT on allocation, the actual process of relieving the officers will start.
As many as 44 IAS officers are currently working on provisional basis in Telangana. In the recent allocation, 166 IAS officers have been allocated to AP and 128 to TS. Of the 44 IAS officers working for Telangana on provisional basis, around 30 have been allotted to AP.
The Telangana government has to relieve them from their duties and the officers have to give joining report to AP government. Likewise, around 110 IAS officers have to be relieved from AP and they have to give joining report in TS.
Once the two governments receive the official communication, the process of relieving and joining will begin. According to sources, it will take another two days' time for this process to begin.
If any officer wants to utilise the swapping option to go to the other state, the officer should find another officer of the same cadre and grade pay in the other state.
Both officers willing for swapping should submit a common form to the Centre. Once the Centre agrees to swapping, the respective government will act accordingly. 'No officer till date has opted for swapping. We have 45 more days,' an official said.
In a corrigendum, the DoPT said officers opting for swapping should send their representations through the chief secretary of the state to which the officer was provisionally allocated on December 26.
The last date for sending the swapping request is January 10. The representations received in advance may not be considered by the advisory committee under Pratyush Sinha if the same is not received through proper channel, the DoPT said.
