KCR to inaugurate 'Numaish' on Jan 1 Hyderabad, Dec 30 (INN): Elaborate arrangements have been made for the conduct of Numaish, the All India Industrial Exhibition, at Exhibition Ground in Nampally.
The 46-day exhibition will be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on January 1 at 5 PM. There will be an entry fee of Rs 20 for the Numaish which is likely to have nearly 2500 stalls.
Addressing a press conference here, Finance Minister and Exhibition Society president Etala Rajender informed that the Society would also be celebrating the Exhibition's Platinum Jubilee this year.
Besides releasing a souvenir, three members Retired Justice Seetharama Reddy, A Ranga Rao and Laxminarayana, who are part of the Exhibition Society since 50 years would also be felicitated on the occasion. An amount of Rs 10 lakh each would be donated for Police Welfare Fund, Jammu & Kashmir floods and Hudhud cyclone relief works.
The exhibition society, which runs 18 educational institutions, has decided to adopt three schools in the Old City. While two schools are located in Gowlipura, one is located in Moghalpura. The Society would provide required infrastructure for these schools.
Exhibition Society Secretary P Narotham Reddy said that the Society intends to support the educational institutions in the Old City of Hyderabad from its funds in near future.
He informed that the Society had earned revenues of Rs 18 crore last year and the profit was of about Rs 11 crore. Almost 85 per cent of this amount has been spent on the institutions being run by the Society.
Narotham Reddy informed that nearly 150 volunteers have been trained by the police to take up duties during the exhibition. Another 75 persons have been trained to keep a watch on the exhibition premises during night time. A dog squad has also been deployed at the exhibition. He said an Exhibition Apps has been developed to keep the visitors informed about the location of stalls and give other information.
Society's Vice-President Gangadhar and Joint Secretary Anil Swaroop were also present.
